Water Quality Education Day

Watersheds and rain barrels:  what, why and how?

  • Do you know what having a rain barrel or two at your house can do for your garden and for the water quality of nearby streams, rivers, and lakes?
  • Do you know what a watershed is?

ColorBrightonGreen.org will explain the benefits of rain barrels and to give you information on how to obtain one or more at a reasonable cost. If you live in the Buckland Creek Watershed in Brighton, NY, you could be eligible to get a free rain barrel and if you live in a different watershed in Monroe County, we can advise you on where to go to get a rain barrel kit for $25–$45.
