Vehicle-sharing programs in Europe

One of the things that makes it much easier to get by in Europe without owning a car is the abundance of car- and bicycle-sharing programs.  We’ve seen them in almost every city we’ve visited this year, and I’ll be sharing pictures from different places.

The photo below is from Frankfurt (run by the Deutsche Bahn) and the photo above is from Paris, where it seemed like almost half of every bicycle on the road was from the Vélib’ bike-sharing program.  Unfortunately they don’t have kid-sized bikes so we didn’t get to try them out first-hand, but it was inspiring to see so many people getting around by no-carbon transportation.
